Tomorrow, September 17th, is Citizenship Day in the United States. Be proud to be an American, tomorrow and always. Today is Constitution Day (observed).
Liberty!
Posted by Jake Allen at September 16, 2005 10:30 PMIt is sad that it has become politically incorrect to express patriotism and that it has permeated our public schools and culture. Twenty years ago who would have thought that there be a controversy over wearing an American Flag pin on one's lapel after a tragedy such as 911? Is the U.S. evil? This is what the "blame America first crowd" would have you believe. The U.S. is on top (at this moment in time) in most categories
which the world deems important. This produces "guilt" in some our citizens and jeolousy in most of the rest of the world. Does patriotism equate with "flaunting"? There are enough things that are wrong in his country to deserve our time and attention, and likewise there are many things right with this country that deserve celebration.
Maddness?
I'll ask Toby Keith and get back with you . . .
